Skyup Enterprises LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the checkl mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
checkl does not require an account to use. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identification information through the App itself.
When you contact us via email at support@checkl.app or feedback@checkl.app, we receive your email address and the content of your message.
1.2 Checklist Data
All checklists, checklist items, schedule configurations, session history, and related data are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data, and it is not transmitted to our servers.
1.3 Camera and Photos
When you use the optional AI visual validation feature, the App accesses your device camera to capture photos for verification purposes. These photos are transmitted to Google's Gemini API (a third-party artificial intelligence service provided by Google LLC) for analysis and verification. The photos are sent solely for the purpose of AI-powered visual validation of your checklist items.
We do not store these photos on our servers. However, please be aware that Google may process and temporarily store these images in accordance with their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review Google's Privacy Policy for information on how they handle data.
Forensic proof images (the results of AI verification) are stored locally on your device only. They are not uploaded to any server and are not included in the export/import backup feature.
1.4 Subscription and Payment Information
If you purchase a checkl Pro subscription, payment is processed by Apple through the App Store and managed by RevenueCat, Inc., our subscription management platform. We do not directly collect, process, or store your credit card number, bank account information, or other financial data.
RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier associated with your device to manage your subscription entitlements. RevenueCat does not receive your personal information unless you provide it separately. Please review RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for more information.
1.5 Automatically Collected Information
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking tools in the App. We do not collect device identifiers, IP addresses, location data, usage analytics, or browsing history through the App.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use information solely for the following purposes:
- To provide AI visual validation by transmitting photos to Google's Gemini API for analysis
- To manage your subscription status through RevenueCat
- To respond to your support or feedback emails
3. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with the following third-party services:
- Google Gemini API (Google LLC) - Processes photos submitted for AI visual validation. Images are transmitted to Google's cloud servers for analysis. Google may retain data in accordance with its own policies.
- RevenueCat, Inc. - Manages subscription entitlements and communicates with Apple's App Store for payment processing. Receives an anonymous device identifier.
- Apple App Store (Apple Inc.) - Processes all payments for subscriptions. Handles billing, receipts, and subscription management.
4. Data Retention
Since checklist data is stored locally on your device, it persists until you delete the App or manually clear the data. We do not have access to or control over locally stored data.
Photos submitted for AI verification are transmitted to Google's Gemini API for processing. We do not retain copies of these photos. Google's retention of this data is governed by their privacy policy.
If you contact us via email, we retain your correspondence for as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry, and for a reasonable period thereafter for record-keeping purposes.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Data transmitted to Google's Gemini API is sent over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Locally stored data on your device is protected by your device's built-in security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID).
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to us, please contact us at support@checkl.app and we will take steps to delete such information.
7. Your Rights and Choices
- Camera access: You can revoke camera permission at any time through your device settings. The App will continue to function without it; you simply will not be able to use AI visual validation.
- Data export: You can export your checklist data using the in-app export feature.
- Data deletion: You can delete all locally stored data by deleting the App from your device.
- Subscription management: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings.
For California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you. Since we do not collect personal information through the App beyond what is described above, and since checklist data is stored only on your device, there is minimal personal information to disclose. You may contact us at support@checkl.app for any CCPA-related requests.
For European Residents (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have certain data protection rights including the right to access, rectify, or delete your personal data. Since we do not collect or store personal data on our servers (beyond email correspondence), your primary data rights relate to locally stored data on your device and data processed by our third-party providers (Google and RevenueCat). You may contact us at support@checkl.app for any GDPR-related requests.
8. International Data Transfers
When you use AI visual validation, photos are transmitted to Google's servers, which may be located outside your country of residence. By using this feature, you consent to the transfer of your data to Google's servers in accordance with Google's privacy policy.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy within the App or on our website at checkl.app. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the checkl mobile application ("App") provided by Skyup Enterprises LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the App, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) and that you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the App.
2. Description of Service
checkl is a smart checklist application with optional AI-powered visual validation. The App allows you to create, manage, and complete checklists with features including smart schedules, recurring auto-reset, AI verification, session history, templates, custom icons, and data export/import.
3. Free and Paid Services
3.1 Free Tier
The App offers a free tier that includes up to 2 checklists, unlimited items per checklist, AI visual verification, all schedule types, session history, all templates, dark and light mode, and data export/import.
3.2 Pro Subscription
checkl Pro is available as a paid subscription that unlocks additional features including unlimited checklists and full session statistics and analytics. Pro is offered at the following pricing:
- Monthly: $3.99 USD per month
- Annual: $27.99 USD per year (equivalent to $2.33/month)
Both plans include a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the applicable rate.
3.3 Changes to Free Services
We reserve the right to modify, limit, or discontinue any features currently offered for free, or to convert any free feature into a paid feature, at any time and at our sole discretion. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes through the App or our website. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the modified terms.
3.4 Pricing Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing at any time. Any price changes will apply to new subscriptions and renewals after the change takes effect. Existing subscribers will be notified of pricing changes in accordance with Apple's App Store policies, and price increases will not apply until the current billing period ends.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
4.1 Payment Processing
All payments for checkl Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not directly handle your payment information. All billing and payment terms are subject to Apple's terms and conditions.
4.2 Subscription Management via RevenueCat
We use RevenueCat, Inc. as our subscription management platform. RevenueCat communicates with Apple's App Store to verify your subscription status and manage entitlements. By subscribing to checkl Pro, you acknowledge and consent to RevenueCat's processing of your subscription data in accordance with their Terms of Service.
4.3 Auto-Renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the applicable subscription rate.
4.4 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID subscription settings. Upon cancellation:
- Your Pro features will remain active until the end of the current billing period
- You will not be charged for subsequent periods
- Your existing checklists (including those exceeding the free tier limit) will remain accessible; you will not lose any data
- You will not be able to create new checklists beyond the free tier limit of 2
4.5 Refunds
Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policies. We do not have the ability to issue refunds directly. To request a refund, please contact Apple Support or visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
4.6 Free Trial
The 7-day free trial is available once per Apple ID. If you have previously redeemed a free trial for checkl Pro, you will not be eligible for another trial. During the trial, you have full access to all Pro features. If you cancel during the trial period, you will not be charged.
5. AI Visual Validation
5.1 Third-Party AI Processing
The AI visual validation feature uses Google's Gemini API to analyze photos you submit. When you use this feature, your photos are transmitted to Google's cloud servers for processing. By using AI visual validation, you consent to this data transmission.
5.2 Accuracy Disclaimer
AI visual validation is provided as an assistive tool and is not guaranteed to be 100% accurate. The confidence scores and verification results are AI-generated estimates and should not be relied upon as the sole confirmation of safety-critical actions (such as verifying that a stove is off or a door is locked). You are solely responsible for ensuring the actual status of any item you verify.
5.3 Appropriate Use
You agree to use AI visual validation only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to submit photos that contain illegal content, violate the privacy or rights of others, or are otherwise inappropriate.
5.4 Experimental Status of AI Features
All AI-powered features within the App, including AI visual validation, are provided in an experimental capacity and are under active development. These features may not perform consistently or reliably in all situations, and AI results, confidence scores, and verification outputs may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies.
You should always independently verify the real-world status of any item or action, regardless of what an AI feature reports. Do not rely solely on AI-generated results, particularly for safety-critical decisions such as confirming that a stove is off, a door is locked, or a hazard has been addressed. We expressly disclaim any liability for outcomes arising from reliance on AI feature outputs.
6. User Content and Data
6.1 Ownership
You retain full ownership of all checklists, checklist items, and other content you create within the App. We do not claim any ownership rights over your content.
6.2 Local Storage
Your checklist data is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your data and are not responsible for data loss due to device failure, App deletion, or other causes. We strongly recommend using the export/backup feature regularly to protect your data.
6.3 Data Portability
You may export your checklist data at any time using the in-app export feature. Exported data is saved as a JSON file that can be imported back into the App.
6.4 Backup Feature — Experimental and Provided as a Courtesy
Any backup or export functionality provided within the App is offered in an experimental capacity and as a courtesy only. We do not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, integrity, or restorability of any backup created through the App. Backup features may fail, produce incomplete data, or behave unexpectedly.
You should not rely on the App's backup feature as your sole means of preserving your data. We strongly encourage you to maintain your own independent records and copies of any checklist data that is important to you. We are not responsible for any data loss, corruption, or unavailability, regardless of whether you have used the in-app backup feature.
7. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, code, graphics, logos, mascot ("Chekko"), icons, and other visual elements, is the property of Skyup Enterprises LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App without our written consent.
The checkl name, logo, and Chekko mascot are trademarks of Skyup Enterprises LLC.
8. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App's systems or networks
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Submit harmful, offensive, or illegal content through the AI verification feature
- Interfere with or disrupt the App or its servers
- Circumvent any content protection or access control mechanisms
9. Disclaimers
9.1 "As Is" Provision
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
9.2 AI Disclaimer
We do not warrant that AI visual validation results will be accurate, complete, or reliable. AI-generated results are estimates and may contain errors. We are not responsible for any actions you take or fail to take based on AI verification results.
9.3 Availability
We do not guarantee that the App will be available at all times or that it will be free of errors or interruptions. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any part of it) at any time without notice.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SKYUP ENTERPRISES LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY.
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $50 USD, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Skyup Enterprises LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the App or your violation of these Terms.
12. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with third-party services including Google's Gemini API, RevenueCat, and Apple's App Store. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices, policies, or availability of any third-party services.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnification, and limitations of liability.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State in which Skyup Enterprises LLC is registered, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
15. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If a dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within 30 days, either party may pursue resolution through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
16. Apple-Specific Terms
These Terms are between you and Skyup Enterprises LLC, not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if applicable). Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product liability claims, any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Skyup Enterprises LLC regarding the App and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
19. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
